During a recent DPM pastors’ seminar in Koh Kong province, a significant concern was raised by local pastors: many young people are working in Chinese-run casinos, leading to a noticeable decline in church attendance. This trend has created a sense of urgency for the churches in the area. In response, the DPM-Cambodia team is partnering with local churches to launch a targeted outreach program. The goal of this initiative is to reach this young generation directly, sharing the truth and light of Jesus Christ and offering a path that can counter the challenges and pressures they face.
This outreach is also to empower the new generation of Christian youth leaders—young people who are passionate, bold, and willing to reach the unreached in their communities and among their own friends. We partnered with local churches to inspire and equip their youth, encouraging them to invite their peers to join our outreach program.
What followed was genuinely moving. About 200 youth came—not just for fun, games, and the blessing draw—but for something more profound. As they laughed, played, and built friendships, their hearts began to open. Then, during the time of worship and the sharing of the Gospel, the atmosphere shifted. The message of God's goodness and love was shared clearly and powerfully.
Matthew 6:26 says:
“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”
We shared with the young people that this verse reminds us of God’s unending care and provision. Just as He feeds the birds of the air, who don’t worry about their needs, He promises to take care of us—His beloved children. When you look at the sky or watch the birds soaring freely, let it be a reminder that you are deeply loved and valued by God. No matter what challenges you face, God is always with you, providing, protecting, and guiding you. You are far more precious to Him than the birds, and He will always supply what you need.
Let this truth bring you peace: If God cares for the smallest creatures, how much more will He care for you, His child? Keep trusting in His love and provision, knowing that He is faithful.
Tears were seen. Smiles returned. And hands were lifted—not just in the air, but in surrender. Many accepted Christ that day, encountering hope, purpose, and a Savior who had never forgotten them. It was more than an event—it was the beginning of a transformation.
We don’t just focus on reaching unbelievers; we are also passionate about empowering and encouraging the young generation of believers. Through the proclamation card that says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me", we remind them that God has already equipped them for great things.
This verse isn't just words on a card—it’s a declaration of strength, purpose, and possibility. We encourage the youth to use this truth as a foundation for their lives and ministries, calling them to step up, commit to God's work, and boldly serve in His Kingdom. No matter their age, background, or past challenges, they are capable of achieving great things through Christ’s strength.
As they internalize this powerful message, we believe they will rise to be leaders who serve with passion and perseverance, ready to make an impact in their communities, families, and beyond. The future is bright for these young people as they embrace their God-given potential and step confidently into the calling He has prepared for them.
