We are thrilled to share an encouraging report from our recent mission trip to Pursat province, a region currently grappling with the effects of the Cambodia/Thailand border tensions.
Ministry to the Displaced
Two months ago, a significant number of villagers were displaced from the border area due to the conflict. We were privileged to partner with a local church in Phnom Penh and the Pursat Provincial Council to provide relief. Through this partnership, we were able to send vital food supplies to the affected families. This collaborative effort ensured immediate aid reached those most in need, demonstrating the practical love of Christ during a time of crisis.
Equipping Local Leaders
The primary focus of our trip was a pastors’ seminar. Despite the regional unrest, we were deeply encouraged by the commitment and eagerness of the local church leaders.
- Strong Attendance: We welcomed 49 pastors representing 37 churches from across Pursat Province to the seminar.
- Warm Welcome: The local churches were incredibly welcoming, and their appreciation for the fellowship and teaching was evident throughout the time we spent together.
The teaching sessions focussed on essential teaching material by Derek, including You Matter to God, Will You Intercede?, Applying the Blood and Spiritual Warfare. Our goal was to equip these leaders with solid, foundational truths to help them navigate the challenges they face and to be anchors of hope in their communities.

Focussing on the Future
One significant theme that emerged from our time of fellowship and prayer was the need for new leaders. We noticed that most of the attendees are senior pastors and leaders. We joined them in praying fervently that the Lord would raise up a new generation of young, passionate leaders to support the existing ministries and ensure the future strength and reach of the church in Pursat.
Testimony of Chan Pich
My name is Chan Pich, and I am 58 years old. My husband is a pastor, and I serve as a women’s leader in our church. I am deeply thankful to God for the wonderful opportunity to join the Derek Prince seminar together with other pastors and leaders in Pursat province.
After the main gathering, we were divided into different teams. My team’s topic was Applying the Blood. The first section talked about “the life-taker and the life-giver” from John 10:10, which says:
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.”
This message deeply touched me and reminded me of a powerful testimony from my own life during the COVID-19 outbreak. My husband and I were both infected and became very sick. We had to stay in separate rooms. Every day, I prayed earnestly for God’s healing and protection over both of us.
How You Can Partner With Us
We invite you to join us in supporting the vital work in Pursat.
Prayer Points:
- New Leaders: Pray for a youth movement in Pursat—that God would call and equip young leaders to serve and support the senior pastors.
- Continued Stability: Pray for the displaced villagers to find stability and comfort, and that the local churches continue to minister effectively to them.
- Peace at the Border: Pray for a prompt and peaceful resolution to the Cambodia/Thailand border conflict, bringing lasting security to the region.
- Enduring Impact: Pray that the pastors will practically apply the teachings received to bless their congregations and communities.
