Equipping Believers

This year’s severe flooding has brought widespread devastation to many areas along the Mekong River, and Kampong Chhnang province is among the hardest hit. In response, DPM-Cambodia extended a hand of support, partnering with the Christian Provincial Council to reach out to those affected.

Reaching Out in Sorrow: A Village Transformed

Our team embarked on a journey by boat, navigating the inundated landscape to reach a village profoundly impacted by the floods. The community was gripped by immense sorrow, having recently lost a four-year-old boy to the waters. In the midst of this heartbreaking tragedy, our mission was clear: to comfort the grieving family and share the boundless love and salvation found in Jesus with the entire village.

We encountered many children in the village; their faces reflecting a sense of desperation. Yet, it is precisely in such darkness that the light of Christ shines brightest; where sorrow abounds, His hope can flourish. While the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, Jesus declared, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

With boldness and compassion, we publicly proclaimed the name of Jesus, the Savior, to the gathered villagers and local governors. Praise the Lord – many raised their hands, accepting Jesus as their personal Savior! It was a powerful testament to God’s grace, even in the most challenging circumstances.

Equipping Pastors for Abundant Life

The very next day, our mission continued with a pastors’ seminar, drawing over 50 dedicated pastors representing 39 churches from Kampong Chhnang province. The atmosphere was electric with celebration as we collectively praised God for the many souls who had just turned back to Jesus in the flood-affected village.

During the seminar, we intentionally set aside time to quietly rest in the Word of the Lord. Our sessions focused on vital topics from Derek Prince’s teaching, including, You Matter to God; Will You Intercede?; Applying the Blood; Spiritual Warfare and The Authority and Power of God’s WordThese teachings are designed to strengthen and empower pastors, equipping them to lead their congregations into deeper faith and to minister effectively amidst their community's unique challenges.

Testimony by Pastor Mean Sochida

My name is Mean Sochida. I am a Pastor and also serve as a Women’s Christian Leader in Kampong Chhnang province. I thank God with all my heart for the opportunity to attend the Derek Prince Ministries seminar alongside many other pastors in our region.

During the seminar, I joined a small group that studied the book Spiritual Warfare. This powerful book reminded me of the reality of spiritual battles and how we, as believers, can overcome them through God’s strength. It deepened my understanding and strengthened my faith.

In my own life, I have faced many challenges—sickness, financial hardship, and even persecution. These were times when the enemy tried to destroy me. Satan would whisper lies, telling me, “You are not righteous. You are not holy.” But I know the truth: I am made righteous and holy through Jesus Christ. His Word gives me strength, confidence, and daily victory.

I’ve been encouraging my church members and other Christians to stand strong in spiritual warfare. I often remind them: You must put on the full armor of God and rely on His power to stand against the devil’s schemes. Two months later many of them have come back to me saying, “Praise the Lord! I feel stronger and more confident than before.” That is the power of God’s truth at work.

As the Bible says:

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” — 2 Corinthians 10:4

We cannot win these battles through human strength or wisdom, but only through the power of God.

All glory and praise be to the Lord!  Amen.
