Outreach
Sri Lanka
Leadership Training

For ten days, we had the privilege of travelling across Sri Lanka, ministering to well over 1,600 pastors and Christian leaders through a series of pastors and leaders’ conferences, young leaders training and church-based meetings.  This proved to be a powerful season of biblical teaching, encouragement and spiritual renewal, revealing a deep hunger for God's Word and a growing desire among believers to understand more fully the finished work of Christ.

The outreach covered Galle, Moratuwa, Colombo, Gampaha, Negombo and Kelani, reaching leaders from many different churches, denominations and regions. Some meetings were held in predominantly Sinhala-speaking areas where we were ministering for the first time, opening new doors for continued ministry.

A central focus throughout the outreach was the finished work of Christ and the Divine Exchange—helping pastors and leaders understand more deeply what Jesus accomplished for us through His death and resurrection. We also taught on spiritual warfare, worship, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, marriage and family, healing, faith and the practical application of God’s Word.

The response was consistently encouraging. Many pastors acknowledged that, although they had known and preached the Scriptures for years, they were seeing familiar passages from a new perspective. One recurring response was, “We had never seen it this way before”.  Leaders were challenged to move beyond continually confessing their weakness and lack and to appropriate by faith the fullness of what Christ has already accomplished.

The Young Leaders Training was another important part of the outreach, equipping a younger generation in areas essential for effective Christian life and ministry. Their enthusiasm and hunger for God’s Word gave great encouragement for the future of the Church in Sri Lanka.

There were also several significant testimonies during the outreach. People testified to receiving new understanding concerning healing and the finished work of Christ, while others spoke of freedom from shame, renewed faith and a deeper understanding of the Cross. One translator who had suffered from painful boils testified of complete healing after applying the truth of the Divine Exchange to her situation.

The meetings were characterised by an unusual hunger for the Word. Even where the audiences were already knowledgeable in Scripture, there was a strong desire to go deeper. Pastors travelled from other areas simply to hear the teaching they had been unable to listen to fully in an earlier meeting. At the final gathering in Kelani, many people remained afterwards to share how deeply they had been blessed, strengthened and challenged.

Perhaps the most significant outcome of these ten days was the opening of new relationships and ministry doors. We were able to connect with pastors and leaders who had never previously encountered Derek Prince Ministries, while strengthening relationships with those who already knew the ministry. The conferences also created opportunities to place Derek Prince’s books and teaching resources into the hands of leaders who can now take these truths into their own churches and communities.

We are deeply grateful to God for the opportunity to reach well over 1,600 pastors and leaders in ten days, distributing over 29,000 books. We believe this outreach was not simply a series of meetings, but an investment in the strengthening and equipping of the Church in Sri Lanka.

Our prayer is that the truths planted during these ten days—especially the revelation of Christ’s finished work, the Divine Exchange and the power of God’s Word—will continue to spread from pastor to pastor, church to church and generation to generation.

To God alone be all the glory!
