Following our powerful trips to the outer provinces, the DPM-Cambodia team recently traveled to Kandal province. Being the closest province to the capital city of Phnom Penh—just a one-hour drive away—this journey was a smooth and convenient transition for our team.
A Short Journey to a Fruit-Farm Village
The local provincial council kindly arranged for our seminar to be held at a beautiful church nestled within a rural fruit-farming village. As we drove along the streets, we were surrounded by lush orchards filled with longan, rambutan, and mangosteen trees. Turning down a narrow country road leading to the church, we were welcomed by the simple, peaceful sights of village life, with chickens, ducks, and geese roaming freely and happily.
Gathering with Joy and Worship
Even before we arrived, the air was filled with anticipation. Many senior pastors had woken up early and were already waiting for us at the church. Beautiful hymns were playing from the church sound system, warmly inviting all of us to gather together to praise and worship the Lord.
Though the Cambodian weather was quite hot, the thoughtful youth of the host church had set up several fans throughout the hall, ensuring everyone stayed cool and comfortable. This time, 48 dedicated pastors attended the seminar, eager to dive into the truths of Scripture.
Washed and Renewed by the Word
For the study sessions, we divided the participants into three small groups to deeply study three vital books from the Laying the Foundation series:
- Faith and Works
- The Authority and Power of God’s Word
- Founded on the Rock
Just like the leaders in the other provinces, these Kandal pastors absolutely loved the small group format. It provided a safe, intimate space for them to open up, share their personal testimonies, pray for one another, and study the Word as a community. It was an incredible time of mutual encouragement, where everyone felt truly “washed by the Word of the Lord”.

Reaching 500 Youth Across Three Provinces
In mid-September, DPM-Cambodia partnered with local churches across Kandal, Kampong Speu, and Kampong Chhnang provinces for an impactful youth outreach. We are deeply grateful to God for the wonderful spirit of unity among the local pastors, who worked as one team to coordinate this gathering. They selected a central location where youth from all three provinces could easily meet while on school vacation and invited them directly into the church.
The outreach was filled with energy, featuring icebreaker games, joyful praise and worship songs, and engaging activities. Pastor Chhairith of DPM-Cambodia delivered a powerful gospel message based on Derek Prince’s booklet, Extravagant Love. He reminded the young audience that while everyone in this world is searching for true love, it is only Jesus Christ who can offer the unconditional, boundless love our souls are longing for.
The message resonated deeply with the youth. When the altar call was given, many raised their hands to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior! Demonstrating their wonderful pastoral heart, the local church leaders immediately stepped forward to pray with the new believers, welcoming them into their local church families for ongoing fellowship and discipleship.
I Realized God’s Love Was Waiting for Me All Along" — SreyKong’s Testimony
When I was a little child, I used to go to church mainly because they provided free meals. But as I grew older, I stopped going altogether for many years. Recently, friends invited me to return to church, but I kept refusing because I was completely focused on studying for my national university entrance exams. The pressure was overwhelming, and I felt so stressed and anxious.
In my moment of deepest anxiety, I suddenly remembered God. I decided to pray and ask Him to give me peace and help me pass my exams. Amazingly, not only did I pass, but I achieved a very good score!
After the exams, the local pastor invited me to join the multi-province youth gathering. During the service, the message about Jesus’ extravagant love touched my heart so deeply. I realized I couldn’t resist His grace any longer. That day, I joyfully surrendered my life and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior!
