Earlier this year, we invited supporters who engage with Derek Prince Ministries UK digitally, particularly through our emails, to tell us more about their experience of the ministry.
We wanted to find answers to questions like:
- What do friends and supporters like you value most about Derek’s teaching?
- How are you using and sharing Derek’s teaching?
- What encourages people like you to support our ministry?
- In future, what would help someone like you go deeper in their understanding of God’s Word?
More than 400 people took part, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who gave their time and shared their thoughts so willingly.
A Deep Hunger for the Word of God
Perhaps the strongest message was also one of the most encouraging. People continue to value Derek Prince’s teaching because it is rooted firmly in Scripture.
Respondents repeatedly used words such as clear, solid, biblical and uncompromising. Many spoke about Derek’s ability to explain difficult biblical truths simply and practically, while still treating Scripture with depth and seriousness.
The research also confirmed something distinctive about the DPM audience. Many people value both rigorous Bible teaching and teaching that takes prayer, spiritual warfare and deliverance seriously.
You Are Sharing Derek Prince’s Teaching Materials
One finding particularly encouraged us. Nearly six in ten people who responded said they had shared a DPM resource during the previous month — perhaps a video, a book, a teaching letter or a link to something they thought would help another person.
What struck us was why people shared. Usually, it was not simply because they wanted to promote DPM. They had found something that helped them understand Scripture, strengthened them during a difficult time or answered an important question — and they wanted someone else to receive that same encouragement.
Personal recommendation also remains one of the main ways people first encounter Derek Prince’s teaching. YouTube is increasingly important too, particularly in helping newer and younger audiences discover the ministry.
You Want to See the Gospel Advance
The research also told us something important about generosity too, in that, people want to know that their giving is helping biblical truth reach others. Supporters spoke particularly positively about seeing Derek’s teaching translated into other languages, made available to persecuted Christians, distributed through outreach and placed into the hands of people who might otherwise never have access to these resources.
That is an important reminder to us. We must continue to show clearly what prayer and generosity make possible — not simply what DPM is doing, but the people, churches and communities who are being strengthened through the truth of God’s Word.
A Desire to Go Deeper into God’s Word
Many respondents also told us that they would welcome more structured opportunities to learn. There was interest in online courses, Bible studies, webinars, seminars, conferences and other ways of engaging more deeply with Derek’s teaching.
This tells us that people are not simply asking for more content. They are looking for ways to grow. So, one of the areas we will be exploring is how we can organise the extraordinary body of teaching Derek left behind into clearer learning and discipleship journeys — helping people move from encountering an individual teaching to developing a deeper understanding of Scripture over time.
One Ministry Family, Many Church Traditions
Another encouraging finding was the breadth of churches represented. Respondents came from Anglican, Pentecostal, independent, Baptist and many other church backgrounds. What seemed to unite them was not denomination, but a shared desire for serious Bible teaching and spiritual growth.
We are grateful that Derek’s teaching continues to serve Christians across such a wide spectrum of the Church.
What Happens Next?
Research is only useful if we listen to it. In the months ahead, we intend to use what we have learned in several practical ways.
We want to make it easier for people to discover and share Derek’s teaching. We want to develop clearer pathways for those who want to study more deeply. We want to communicate much more consistently about the impact prayer and giving are having around the world. And we want to become better at helping people who first discover Derek’s teaching online move into a deeper relationship with the ministry.
Most of All, Thank You
Whether you have been journeying with DPM for decades or discovered Derek’s teaching only recently; whether you pray, give, read, watch, share resources or encourage the ministry in other ways, you are part of this story.
Thank you for helping us continue to make the truths of God’s Word available to people in the UK and around the world — and to another generation.
