Kuwait

Kuwait is a very small nation compared to the other surrounded countries; Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Iran. The country came into prominence after the Iraqi invasion in 1990.

Kuwait’s oil wealth has attracted people from many parts of the globe and now more than half (67%) of its 3.6 million people are non-nationals. About 85% of the population is Muslim (Sunni 70%, Shi’a 30%); around 13% are Christian of various denominations with the remaining of minority religions such as Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs.

Of the Christian Community that comprises largely of the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Church, there is approximately 2% that come under the category of Evangelical Christians. There is a small Kuwaiti (local) Christian community of 150 persons and there is also a Kuwaiti Pastor heading the National Evangelical Church in Kuwait.
