Collaboration with Dr. Elizabeth Hynd and New Hope Center

Our efforts in Eswatini have been significantly propelled by our collaboration with Dr. Elizabeth Hynd, who runs the New Hope Center. The center provides a safe haven for children orphaned due to the AIDS epidemic, where they receive comprehensive care and education.

Members of our team, consisting of my sister Ruth, niece Lynn, and myself (Isabel Surgeon - Director of DPM SA), had the privilege of visiting the New Hope Center. We distributed Children and Youth posters and declaration cards, offering spiritual encouragement to the children. Thanks to a generous donation from Michael at DPM Germany, we were able to extend our contribution, providing additional posters, declaration cards, books, CDs, and DVDs to the New Hope Center.

Impacting Lives: Elizabeth's Remarkable Work

Dr. Hynd, a doctor of education, has made an extraordinary impact on the lives of the students at the New Hope Center. Through a variety of programs, including ballet, music, drama, art, and sport, she has cultivated an environment for holistic development. Testament to her dedication, Elizabeth has adopted 54 children, all bearing the surname 'Abraham', and is fostering another 10 children.

Several of her students have stepped up to manage the center, actively participating in ministry at local churches and even internationally. Remarkable stories of their achievements include a girl who attended a harpist course in Israel, contributing to the establishment of a 24/7 prayer house in Eilat (Israel), and a student pursuing his pilot's license in Pretoria. Many others are furthering their studies overseas.

A third-generation missionary to Eswatini, Elizabeth and the New Hope Center have been instrumental in strengthening our ties with the community and achieving our mission to “reach the unreached and teach the untaught”
