Since the creation of our YouTube channel on January 5, 2012, we've reached over 134 million views and 1 million subscribers. We are grateful for how God uses Derek's video sermons to impact lives, and we give Him all the glory.

Sharing Derek's Bible teachings free of charge on YouTube is part of our mission to help people grow as followers of Jesus Christ.

Unfortunately, there's a downside to Derek's popularity on YouTube. In recent months, we have seen a quick rise in the number of imposters and unofficial Derek Prince Ministries channels.

In this article, we will help you how to discern such fake channels and why this matters.

Why We Care

Security breaches: Imposters may try to trick you into providing personal information or clicking malicious links, potentially leading to security breaches. They may use their channels to solicit money or engage in fraudulent activities, potentially causing financial losses.

Heresy teachings: Some channels are using AI-tools such as voice cloning to create videos by "Derek" with problematic theology. This fake AI teaching causes reputational damage to Derek Prince, and can cause people to consider him as a heretic and less trust his teachings.

Loss of trust: Imposters can create channels that mimic our official channel's name, logo, leading you to believe you are interacting with the real Derek Prince channel for prayer support and spiritual guidance.

Loss of outreach support: YouTube financially rewards channels with high views. The more people watch Derek on the official Derek Prince Ministries YouTube channel, the more funds our ministry receives. All these funds are used to support our global outreaches, whose work for 100% depends on donations.
On the other hand, when people visit unofficial YouTube channels, these imposters benefit financially, while DPM’s outreach workers receive nothing.

The numbers are quite shocking. In April and May 2025 alone, our team detected 110 offending YouTube channels with a total of 9.5 Million views and 125K subscribers.

How to Discern the Real Derek Prince Channel?

To discern our official Derek Prince Ministries YouTube channels from an impersonator, look for official verification badges:

  • Check the channel's name. All our official DPM channel names should include "Derek Prince Ministries". Impersonators may use slight variations, like adding a space, a number, or a different spelling.
  • Look for the official verification badge: a grey checkmark next to our channel name, indicating that YouTube has verified our authenticity.
All our videos feature the official DPM logo.
  • Check the description of the videos, which should include a link to derekprince.com.
  • Be wary of channels with suspiciously high views and low engagement. If a video has a high view count but a very low number of comments, it could be a sign that the channel is using artificial methods to boost its visibility. Real viewers typically like and share a video they enjoy, or leave a testimony or comment.
  • Unusual content: If a channel's content doesn't match the type of content you would expect from the official channel, it's a sign that something is off.

Help Report Potential Imposters

Our YouTube Team has implemented a proactive system to detect imposters, in order to more effectively take legal measures against them. But we would also appreciate your help in identifying suspicious channels.
