Recently, we had the privilege of ministering at a special conference organized by a prominent local church in the city of Bhandara, Maharashtra. Though the event was primarily intended for the believers of that church—one of the largest congregations in the city—it witnessed a remarkable turnout from the broader Christian community especially the pastors of the city.
Despite the summer season, the weather on the day of the conference took an unexpected turn, with heavy rainfall sweeping across the city. Yet, this did not dampen the spirits of the attendees. Approximately 200 people, including nearly 50 pastors and ministry workers (both men and women) from various churches in the city, gathered with eagerness to receive the Word of God.
I began my message in Hindi, preaching on The Divine Exchange—the redemptive work of Christ and the abundance of life it offers. About thirty minutes into the session, two uniformed police officers entered the hall. They began filming and taking pictures, which initially caused some concern. However, the organizing pastor reassured us that he had secured all necessary permissions for the meeting. The officers had, in fact, been officially deployed to ensure our protection—an encouraging development given the current political climate in Maharashtra, which is generally considered unfavorable to Christians.
There were four police personnel in total, and one of them—a female officer—stood out. She repeatedly entered the hall under the pretext of taking photographs but lingered to listen intently to the Word. I silently prayed that the message, especially the eight aspects of The Divine Exchange, would speak to her heart and bring transformation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, several pastors came forward to testify of how deeply they had been impacted. One pastor expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying:
"Thank you for this very useful teaching. The truth is we know that Jesus was punished in our place but we don't realize that it doesn't stop there. Through His death, He has made provision for a life of abundance. And today you showed us the way into it. A provision for every aspect of our life—that is amazing! Thank you for coming."
An especially moving testimony came from a widowed pastor’s wife. Her husband had passed away suddenly about a year and a half ago, and she had been burdened and uncertain about the future. With tears in her eyes, she shared how the message had lifted a great weight from her heart. She felt God clearly speaking to her—to return home and take up the unfinished work of her husband. Empowered and encouraged, she resolved to stand boldly and continue the ministry he had begun.
We also witnessed powerful moments of deliverance—both physical and spiritual. The reality for many Christians in North India is that, despite their faith in Christ, lingering bondages from past religious practices and deeply rooted cultural traditions continue to weigh them down. It was truly a joy to see such individuals experience genuine freedom as the power of God brought healing, release, and restoration into their lives.
We departed Bhandara with hearts full of joy and gratitude, knowing that God had visited His people and that seeds of life-giving truth had been sown. The request from local pastors for an exclusive teaching seminar for pastors and leaders in the near future further affirmed the fruitfulness of this time of ministry.
To God be the glory!
