In the quiet valleys and remote hills of central Vietnam, far from the noise of the cities, something is unfolding — a quiet harvest of souls. Despite facing governmental restrictions and societal pressures, the Christian community here continues to grow, especially amongst the ethnic minorities.
Pastor “D” and the DPM team, based in Da Nang, are pushing forward to reach as many tribal groups and villages as possible to not only ‘reach the unreached’ with the Gospel message, but to ‘teach the untaught’ pastors and Christian leaders and equip them with Derek’s teaching material. This teaching is urgently needed so they can shepherd the fast-growing number of new converts and continue multiplying church plants across the region.
Revival is Happening Now
A visit was recently made by Pastor “D” and the DPM team to one of the most remote, impoverished and heavily persecuted regions of Vietnam. Despite intense opposition, the people there have responded to the Gospel with remarkable openness and hunger and have planted numerous house churches. The DPM team conducted a seminar for 40 Christian leaders and believers, focussing on the topic What’s So Important about the Cross? and introducing Derek’s Laying the Foundation series booklets. This was met by the attendees with overwhelming enthusiasm and spiritual thirst. For many, it was their first time receiving structured biblical teaching in their own language and context.
A young house church leader who attended the seminar said:
“This is the first time I truly understood what the cross means for me personally. I used to fear persecution, but now I know that Jesus has already won the victory for me.”
Not only is it vitally important for pastors and leaders to have a strong foundation in the Word, they need to know how to disciple believers. An elder from a remote village who was at the seminar told the DPM team:
“We’ve planted churches, but we lacked knowledge of how to nurture the people. These teachings are an answer to prayer.”
How You Can Help
The local pastors have now requested monthly teaching sessions; they are deeply hungry for the Word and long to see their communities grounded in truth and power. Some of the young leaders will also travel to Da Nang for more in-depth discipleship and training.
The DPM team currently holds 1-2 seminars each month for pastors and leaders who are on the frontline where they are leading and serving amidst the challenges. Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us, please, to help support this vital work:
- The average cost to hold a seminar is NZ$800 (transport, meals, accommodation). Total: $19,200 per year.
- We need to reprint 18,000 more books now for a total cost of NZ$13,500.
- Or, you may be able to help by sponsoring one of our 10 pastor/evangelists costing just NZ$165 each per month (or$1,980 each per year).
- NB: These donations are tax deductible in New Zealand.

In countless villages across Cambodia, people live in fear of unseen forces. Many believe that sickness, misfortune or harm will come to their families from spirits or past actions, or by certain foods they eat. To escape these terrors, they offer animal sacrifices—pigs, cows, or chickens—hoping to satisfy dark spiritual powers. Yet, despite these offerings, the fear never truly leaves. People remain trapped in bondage, burdened by rituals and spiritual oppression.
In the remote Ratanakiri province, a young pastor from a tribal group, Yao Phor, experienced this first-hand in his village, where spiritual darkness and demonic activity were very real challenges. After attending a DPM pastors’ training session, a turning point came in his ministry. Yao was deeply encouraged by Derek’s teaching titled What’s So Important About the Cross? The message resonated powerfully with him, especially in the context of his village. He shared how the devil’s influence led people to sickness and compelled them to offer animal sacrifices in fear. But Yao stood firm in the truth of the Gospel.
“I thank God that Jesus shed His blood on the cross to set us free,” he said. “We are no longer bound by evil; we are free to worship the one true God who created everything.”
Yao also expressed gratitude to Derek Prince Ministries, who provided many books and resources during the training.
“Thanks to DPM, we now have valuable tools to study God’s Word and teach others in our village and church.”
How You Can Help
Mr Huy and the DPM team travel tirelessly throughout the provinces of Cambodia to bring Derek’s life-changing teaching to pastors and Christian leaders, who desperately need training in the Word of God, and to equip them with Derek’s material to help them teach their own congregations. Right now, we urgently need to reprint 10 key titles including The Power of the Sacrifice, The Authority and Power of God’s Word, Called to Conquer and Hear God’s Voice so we can continue to resource and empower these pastors and leaders.
- The total cost of reprinting these books is NZ$12,800.
- Over the next 12 months, 12 teaching seminars are planned with each seminar, for around 50 pastors and Christian leaders, costing NZ$1,900. The total cost is NZ$22,800. Could you please prayerfully consider making a gift toward the cost of these to help pastors be trained in the Word of God?
We are incredibly grateful for every donation, no matter how large or small. Every gift helps our teams in Vietnam and Cambodia to hold more teaching seminars for pastors, reach thousands more with the Gospel and provide Derek’s books. Thank you so much for your support.
