On 5 November 2025, I had the privilege of attending the official groundbreaking of the Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer, a project that is set to become the largest Christian monument in the United Kingdom. Situated near Coleshill, close to the geographic centre of England and positioned beside major transport links — including the M6 and M42 motorways, the high-speed rail corridor, and within sight of Birmingham Airport — the Eternal Wall will be uniquely placed for visibility. Millions of people each year will pass by or fly over the site, making it one of the most publicly prominent expressions of Christian faith in the nation’s history.

The monument itself will stand 51 metres high and be constructed using one million bricks, with each brick digitally linked to a verified story of answered prayer. The vision is bold yet simple: to create a permanent, national testimony to the faithfulness of God by gathering and displaying one million real-life accounts of prayer answered. In a time when public expressions of Christian belief are sometimes diminished or overlooked, the Eternal Wall seeks to make hope not only visible, but unavoidable.

Attending this moment on behalf of Derek Prince Ministries UK felt especially meaningful. DPM UK has supported the Eternal Wall initiative because its mission resonates so deeply with the teaching legacy of Derek Prince. Derek repeatedly emphasised the centrality of prayer in the life of every believer, writing in Secrets of a Prayer Warrior that “Prayer is the key that unlocks God’s inexhaustible storehouse.” These are not abstract ideas — they are truths that have shaped countless lives. The Eternal Wall, with its million testimonies, will stand as a monumental confirmation of these very convictions.

Prayer gardens will be created on land surrounding the monument and a woodland with over 100 trees planted to commemorate Heroes of Faith. We have reserved a tree that will honour the life of Derek Prince coupled with all that is being achieved through Derek Prince Ministries to the present day. Visitors will be able to access content to watch, listen and read the story of how God has used Derek Prince to impact the nations.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by supporters, pastors, donors, civic leaders, and volunteers from across the UK gathered to witness the first steps of this long-awaited project. Importantly, the event also attracted mainstream media coverage, highlighting its national significance. Television crews, journalists and photographers documented the proceedings, ensuring that the story of the Eternal Wall reached far beyond those present on the day.

Founder Richard Gamble shared movingly about the 21-year journey that had brought the project to this point — a journey marked by faith, perseverance, and more than a few miracles along the way. Lord Robert Edmiston, whose generosity and vision have played a pivotal role in making the project possible, spoke about the urgent need for visible Christian witness in the public square. In a culture often marked by uncertainty and fragmentation, he emphasised the significance of a monument that proclaims, in a tangible way, that God answers prayer.

As I listened to these reflections, I felt a deep sense of alignment between the Eternal Wall's purpose and the ministry of Derek Prince. Derek often taught that testimonies are powerful because they build faith — not only in those who share them, but also in those who hear them. The Eternal Wall embraces that principle on a monumental scale: every brick represents a life touched, a heart encouraged, a situation transformed by God’s intervention. As these stories become publicly accessible, they carry the potential to spark faith in countless others.

Construction is now underway on the monument, the visitor centre, prayer gardens and landscaped grounds. The project continues to invite participation — individuals and churches can still submit answered-prayer testimonies, support the remaining phases of development, or partner with the vision in practical ways.

Being present at the groundbreaking reminded me of Derek Prince’s enduring message: God hears, God answers, and our testimonies are meant to be shared. The Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer will stand as a million-brick declaration of that truth — a structure designed not only to be seen, but to speak. It will be a landmark of faith in the very heart of the nation, bearing witness to the God who still answers prayer.
