Word From The Word

Concise two-minute Bible teaching from the Derek Prince Word From The Word devotional series.
This is Derek Prince with a word for you from the Word.
āIn the LORD I take refuge. How then can you say to me: āFlee like a bird to your mountainā?ā (Psalm 11:1 NIV)
What is your place of refuge? Are you disturbed when people challenge you? Are you disturbed when you look at the uncertainty of the situation that we live in today?
Jesus told us at the close of this age weād hear of wars and rumors of wars. That menās hearts would fail them for fear, for looking for the things that are coming on the earth. In such times as these, we need a refuge. David said, āIn the LORD I take refuge.ā
And then he challenged those who questioned whether the Lord was an adequate refuge. He said, āHow can you say to me: āFlee like a bird to your mountainā?ā He was saying, in effect, āThereās no mountain that will shelter you. Thereās no man-made shelter, thereās no man-made place of security which can guarantee you protection. Thereās only one place of protection, one adequate refuge, but thatās in the Lord.ā
In the LORD I take refuge. I donāt look merely to human sources, to the material world, to finance, to other provisions of that kind for my refuge, for my security. My security is in the Lord.
Have you ever proved the Lord as your refuge? Do you know what it means to take refuge in the Lord? I want to commend to you the Lord as a place of refuge.
